To address this, the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures NO. 15 (ISPM15) is a global regulation tha dictates how WPM should be treated to eliminate pests. The primary methods of treatmeny are heat treatment (HT) and fumigation with methyl bromide (though the latter is now banned in the EU) Heat treatment involves heating the wood to a core temperaure of 56 Degrees (132.8F) for at least 30 minutes.

Who needs to Comply?

Following Brexit, he UK is treaed as a third-party country in relation to the EU. This means that all WPM moving between the UK and th EU must meet ISPM15 Standards.
